Wendy Chung, MD, PhD, directs the clinical genetics program at Columbia, which helps physicians identify the precise genetic factors that cause disease in specific cases. She also directs clinical programs in risk assessment for cardiomyopathy and arrhythmias and develops novel molecular diagnostic methods to improve genetic testing, including pre-implantation genetic diagnosis for family planning. Her research is on the genetic basis of metabolic disorders such as diabetes, cardiac disorders, neuromuscular disease, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
