August Is Immunization Awareness Month
Vaccines are one of the best ways to protect babies, children and teens against harmful diseases that can cause them to be hospitalized or even die – especially in babies and young children.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends parents follow a vaccination (immunization) schedule for babies and young children. By following the CDC’s suggested vaccination schedule, babies and children will be protected early in life when they are most in danger of getting a life-threatening disease.
You can use the schedule below to check the age or age range when each vaccine or series of shots is recommended. If your child has missed any shots, you can work with your child’s doctor to set up a catch up schedule.
