    NMIC is a community-based, nonprofit organization founded in 1979 that serves Washington Heights and Inwood, in upper Manhattan. Beginning with two people operating on a small start-up grant, we have grown over the past 30 years to over 100 staff members, working to stabilize the community and help residents build a better life.

    The mission of CLOTH’s Housing Development Department is to preserve and develop the housing stock of Southern Washington Heights for low-income families. The majority of CLOTH’s development has been the rehabilitation of existing housing. CLOTH has recently expanded its’ activities to include new construction projects.

    The Wien House is a 14-story, 100-unit facility for low income elderly and mobility impaired. Since it opened in 1990, it’s has been regarded as a model in the low income senior housing industry because it was the first facility of its kind in the U.S. to refinance its mortgage through low income housing tax credits.

    Located at 10th Avenue and 201st Street, the Dyckman Senior Center serves a multi-ethnic population of seniors. With over 700 members, the Center provides an opportunity for seniors to meet with friends, participate in various recreational activities or a shopping trip and eat a nutritionally-balanced meal.
